SEND Our Way is a charity that provides support and training for families with children and young people with additional needs whether diagnosed or not.
Our vision is to create a sense of belonging and strengthen bonds between children, young people and their parents/caregivers.
We do this by providing a range of activities including free Coffee Mornings for parents and/or care givers where you can simply come and have a chat, make new friends and realise you are not having to do this on your own. These mornings offer free refreshments, arts & crafts and other suitable activities. Click here for more details.
We aim for this to provide a platform where mums/dads/carers and their children with additional needs can find a safe, welcoming and accepting place to be and to make new friends while getting some much needed support as well as a cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit. We hope to create an opportunity for new and lasting friendships and for parents and caregivers to recognize their strengths and feel valued as individuals in their own right.
There will also be arts and crafts plus other suitable activities available for parents and children where it will be a safe place to get support and give support.
We will also be running a six week parenting course for all those who parent or who are caregivers to children aged five to eleven. Each session will be for an hour and a half with booklets provided by ‘Care for the Family, Time Out for Parents.’
We are very grateful to the following organisations who have helped with grant funding to get us started.
